Modius Recognized as a Pioneer and Major Provider of Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) by The 451 Group

Recent report cites Modius' flagship software, OpenData, for its ability to aggregate equipment, performance and environmental data across multiple data centers

San Francisco, CA – June 2, 2011 - Modius Inc., a leading provider of Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) solutions, today announced that it has been named a "supplier to watch" by The 451 Group's Data Center Infrastructure Management Software reporti.

According to The 451 Group, “Modius’ OpenData product can take data in a range of formats, even securely from multiple datacenters, which can then be used to drive dashboards and reports. It recently introduced technology to send control data back to certain devices, enabling the datacenter’s use of cooling and energy to be optimized.”

Dubbed by The 451 Group, “one of the pioneers of DCIM,” Modius is regarded as, “leading the development of systems that aggregate environmental and power data from multiple points in the datacenter for management reporting, optimization, and control.”

“Modius is honored to be recognized by The 451 Group for its leadership role in DCIM software,” said Craig Compiano, CEO of Modius. “As data centers continue to become more complex to operate, our software will ensure that data center managers can manage the operational status and monitor the energy usage of their critical infrastructure through a single-pane-of-glass.”

In March, Modius made significant enhancements to its DCIM line with the rollout of OpenData 3.5, which provides device-level performance data from facilities and IT equipment to give enterprises and co-location operators the ability to measure and report the true cost of computational resources they consume.
