Modius to Join Intel Showcase at Gartner Data Center Conference 2011
Show attendees to experience the integration of Intel® Data Center Manager with Modius OpenData first-hand
San Francisco – Nov. 15, 2011 – Modius Inc., a leading provider of Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) solutions, announced today that it will join Intel at its Gartner Data Center Conference booth at the annual show, taking place Dec. 5-8 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
In addition to Intel’s full product offerings, show attendees will be able to experience first-hand how Modius OpenData® Enterprise Edition—a data center infrastructure management solution—integrates Intel® Data Center Manager (Intel DCM) power and thermal data so that organizations can overcome challenges with cooling and airflow distribution that can be impacted by system power density, variable system processing loads, asset turnover and malfunctioning or broken equipment.
Earlier this year, Modius and Intel announced the integration of OpenData Enterprise Edition with Intel DCM, a real-time data center power and thermal management solution that captures power and temperature data from a broad range of IT equipment. Intel DCM enhances OpenData with increased visibility and analytics by providing energy intelligence about critical IT and facilities assets, helping IT and data center managers better understand and manage the power consumption of their computing sources.
Through the integration of Intel DCM directly into Modius OpenData, it will enable a set of functionality not previously available before, including:
- Device- and rack-level capacity analysis with real-time alarming for power deviations
- Device- and rack-level temperature analysis with real-time alarming for temperature deviations
- End-to-end visibility of the power chain from the UPS to individual servers
- Floor-level cold spot and hot spot identification and remediation
The benefits to data center managers from this technology integration include:
- Improved data center efficiency and lower power costs
- Expanded data center capacity
- Early warning of data center problems and potential outages
The Gartner Data Center Conference is produced by Gartner, a leading information technology research company.
