OpenData Standard Edition

Modius offers a 'Standard Edition' version of its flagship product, OpenData. Standard Edition is a basic version of the OpenData platform designed specifically for single-site deployments.  The power of Standard Edition is the ability to quickly install a fully-functional monitoring and analytics application that not only allows you set alarm thresholds from any instrumentation point from any device (networked or serial) in your data center, but it also allows you to store that data in a database and then report performance over time.

Standard Edition installs as a software application onto any Microsoft operating system and can be run natively or within a VM.  The application uses multiple 'collectors' to capture data from different devices whether they are using different protocols (BACnet, SNMP, Modbus, etc.), are located on different networks, or are being monitored by 3rd-party systems.  The application is browser-based and is completely configurable by an Admin user.  An unlimited number of recipents can receive the alarms via email, text or pager.  The amount of data collected by Standard Edition is unlimited depending on database licensing.

Real-time visibility of all monitored equipment set to a single escalation and alarm policy.

Benefits of Standard Edition include:

Collect and analyze as much data as you need, whenever you need it OpenData provides the flexibility to select all of the data (or any subset of that data) from all of the devices in a data center to create new dashboards and reports on the fly--without programming.
Review incisive analysis and trend reports for planning or troubleshooting OpenData is designed as a broad and granular monitoring and decision support tool to provide complete visibility and analysis across all devcies and any performance dimension.
Generate a report with the on-boarding reporting capabilities OpenData provides both standard and custom reports through the on-boarding of reporting capabilities. Because the data is not exported, visiblity of that report remains and its value is not lost.
Change alarm thresholds whenever you need OpenData can set a threshold on any data point on any device, and then allow the user to edit that threshold.
Synchronize alarms with a conditional, customer-driven policy OpenData is not limited to reporting a device fault. it can send a conditional alert for a device which is operating beyond set policies.

OpenData Standard Edition resides on a management system either in the customer's data center or hosted in the cloud. The software collects and evaluates the signals from each device, then transforms those signals into unified, federated view of real-time performance data and alarms for all networked data center assets from all vendors.

The package includes:

  • Modius OpenData Standard Edition software application, which includes a complete library of device interface templates that enable automatic data capture from any network-addressable device in the data center, whether power or cooling equipment, environmental sensors, or IT devices.
  • Modius Protocol Translator and three data collectors
  • Microsoft SQL Server Express database (10 GB size limit, which covers approximately 200 devices)
