Is OpenData cost-effective?
The OpenData architecture was designed to easily and cost-effectively scale in size, cost, capability and performance, independent of programming languages, hardware platforms, device categories, and manufacturer protocols. As a result, the complexity and costs of accessing and managing device information are dramatically reduced.
"Business agility demands a level of data visibility and sharing that is not present in most businesses today, most (of which) have an extensive installed base of disparate equipment and systems that are unable to coexist on a single network, including IT systems, Building Automation Systems (BAS), and numerous building devices …. Consequently, most solutions designed to allow disparate systems to share data across a common network require significant time and investment to complete the necessary customer integration or replacement programs."
