Data Center Infrastructure Management Leader Modius included in Gartner's first Magic Quadrant for DCIM
Modius' OpenData DCIM Platform is recognized by Gartner, Inc. in its research of the top companies offering complete solutions in this emerging market.
SAN FRANCISCO - September 24, 2014 - Modius, Inc., a recognized leader in data center infrastructure management solutions, today announced that the research firm, Gartner, Inc. in its first Magic Quadrant for Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM), featured the Modius OpenData DCIM solution in its coverage of the leading companies in this market.
Gartners Magic Quadrant is the culmination of research in a specific market designed to provide a wide-angle view of the relative supplier positions within that market. The vendors chosen by Gartner to participate are grouped into four categories, (Quadrants), and then ranked for their completeness of vision and their ability to execute on their vision. Modius received high rankings for both vision and execution in their quadrant.
In this original release of the Magic Quadrant, only seventeen (17) vendors were selected from a very broad list of over 100 identified DCIM solution and service providers. For inclusion on the Magic Quadrant, Gartner required that selected vendors must have a strong market position, mature products and operations, global deployments, and consensus between the analysts that the vendor was viable enough to support Gartner clients. In addition to these mandatory inclusion requirements, Modius was also praised for its patented, data collection and normalization technology, advanced, built-in data analytics, and mult-site visualization capabilities. The Modius OpenData solution also includes many of the DCIM features that Gartner listed as highly desirable, including predictive analytics, sensor-based real-time monitoring, and related capabilities like thermal mapping.
"Being recognized by Gartner as one of the leading providers of DCIM solutions fully validates the completeness of the OpenData offering and our viability as a company" said Craig Compiano, CEO of Modius. "This recognition also re-enforces our vision and commitment to DCIM solutions that provide Real-time Operational Intelligence (RtOI) needed to improve decision making, cut costs, and identify ways to manage the data center more efficiently."
